About Me

I was born in Adana -a Mediterranean city in Turkey- in 2003. My interest in computers and electronics started during my kindergarten days when I got my first computer from a shutting-down internet cafe. I spent a lot of time in front of the computer in my free time playing video games and surfing the internet. I started my education at a Baskent University associate, Baskent Schools. In my second year in primary school, I got interested in mechanics (namely, elevators & winches) which led me build a simple elevator model with the help of my father. Things started to get interesting for me when I was encouraged to attend weekend workshops on Design & Technology in middle school when the course teacher saw my work. (We were not taking the Design & Technology course back then. It was primarily a voluntary workshop by teachers for those interested.) In these workshops, we would mostly assemble circuits, study them and explain how that circuit worked. Building circuits aside, we have also been introduced to technologies and basic concepts in science. I left Baskent Schools after 5th grade and started 6th grade at Doga Schools. I learned hosting game servers before the summer of same year to play with friends from my computer. That required me to learn simple IT skills, which then led me to learn my first programming language, C#. In middle school and high school, with the help of participating in multiple English-speaking online communities and the support from amazing teachers both in middle school and high school, I significantly improved my English skills. One of the communities I participated in was a gaming community that targeted a game (and by far the best game I had and played) that I got from my first computer, "Command and Conquer: Renegade". (I will refer to the game as "Renegade" from now on.) Hanging around the community, seeing how much it has improved since around 2009, I wanted to contribute to the game, which led me to learn my second programming language, C++. (Although I believe I am not that good at it, at least not as much as C) I created many projects targeting the game, made libraries to work with game, and helped countless people in various communities in various ways. I've contributed to the game server and written many infrastructural tools for a Renegade community, that I will not name. In around 10th grade, My interest in robotics & mechanics arose again which made me buy my first Arduino set along with many sensors, which led me to learn my third programming language, C. I created many experimental contraptions with Arduino; a remote-controlled lamp, simple elevator logic, a door lock, playing a simple melody from an SD card with a buzzer to name few. In 2022 winter, I became a part of well-known and very popular community of C&C franchise dedicated to keeping Renegade alive, as a developer. I met amazing people there which made me learn a lot of new technologies in both hardware and software-wise and contributed major changes even during my first moments in the team. I currently study Computer Engineering at Middle East Technical University, Northern Cyprus Campus. I am a well-known developer, friend and helper in many Renegade communities and servers. In my free time, I spend time with my friends, work on my projects, contribute to the engine code of Renegade and help people in online communities.
